After his HTC One S refused to connect to mobile internet despite three warranty repairs, he quickly switched to a Nexus 4, which he considers his true first Android phone. Manuel's first steps into the Android world were plagued by issues. He isn't shy to dig into technical backgrounds and the nitty-gritty developer details, either. Manuel studied Media and Culture studies in Düsseldorf, finishing his university career with a master's thesis titled "The Aesthetics of Tech YouTube Channels: Production of Proximity and Authenticity." His background gives him a unique perspective on the ever-evolving world of technology and its implications on society. He has been covering tech news and reviewing devices since joining Android Police as a news writer in 2019. Manuel Vonau is Android Police's Google Editor, with expertise in Android, Chrome, and other Google products - the very core of Android Police’s content. In our testing, we were able to use up to 14 emoji at a time. All of them offer a slider that lets you tweak the size of the individual emoji. You can pick between 20 ready-made colors and five predefined patterns: Mosaic, Lotus, Stacks, Sprinkle, and Prism. You can also hit a randomize button and customize your interface from there. Tapping it brings up a preview of a predefined wallpaper, with the option to pick your own emoji, patterns, and colors. When everything works as expected, a new Emoji Workshop section appears in the wallpaper picker interface. It seems to be available pretty consistently for people running Beta 3 once the Emoji Workshop Wallpaper app is installed, though. On Android 14 Beta 3, you may have to restart your device and force-stop the Wallpaper & style app to get the new emoji wallpaper section to show up. We would recommend against installing this APK as it’s not from a verified source like APK Mirror, so if you’re curious, proceed at your own risk. The rollout was spotted by Google News on Telegram, which also managed to obtain and share an APK of the new app.
